Summoner’s Ascent was my second project after trying to rediscover my love for writing. For this story, I decided to focus on the concept of grief as the major through-line.
I had started writing this story shortly after my father passed, and having a new way to process my complex emotions related to his death was truly valuable.
Throughout the story, I explore the meaning of love, death, memory, and feeling grief over the life one used to live despite the hardships that came with it, while still looking forward to a future you are actively trying to form.
